A Royal Wedding Tea

Me in my flowered "fancier" and "J" in her lovely black hat.
She had a great flower in the back, but we forgot to get a picture of it.

My friend "J" and I celebrated the Royal Wedding by getting up at 2:30am and watching the event live. Then we went out for a lovely tea at Mad Hatter Tea Room in Anoka, MN. We had a lovely day, but now I need to sit for a while and veg. For I am tired from getting up so early and wired from all of the caffeine we drank!

  1. It was surely a great event to watch the Royal Weeding at this Tea Room with such a nice atmosphere, worth getting up so early in the morning. The flowers on your head and your dress are really pretty!

  2. Thank you. We actually watched the wedding at home. It was all over here by 8am.

  3. Cute! Even though I spent most of the Royal Wedding either asleep or looking at apartments, that looks like a fun time at Mad Hatter's!

  4. Oh, how very cute you both look! I think it is so cool that you dressed up and wore hats! I just loved looking at all the hats as the guests were arriving, didn't you?! It was just such a beautiful wedding and Kate's dress was gorgeous. And Princes William and Harry looked so dashing in their uniforms! It was worth every moment being up during the night to watch.

  5. I see, it would have been somehow surprising if the Tea Room had opened during the night... Well, the time difference to Europe was not the best for TV viewers in the USA. So, your visit at Mad Hatter's was a great completion of the Royal Wedding.

  6. Thomas~There was a bar called Brit's Pub that did open at 5am for a viewing party. They were going to be celebrating all day with wedding cake, a special tea and an alcoholic beverage brewed just for the occasion. J and I decided that getting up, getting dressed and driving into Minneapolis by 5am sounded like too much work. Though I suppose there would not have been a lot of traffic at that time!

Yummy~We could have gone to a special Royal Wedding Tea at the Mad Hatter today, but J and I felt like limiting our celebration to yesterday.

Elaine~I am thinking I might go on a hat wearing spree!
